Mossy New Caledonian Gecko CB

Mossy New Caledonian Gecko are medium sized forest dwelling arboreal lizards originating in New Caledonia on the Southern part of the island and Pine Island.

Mossy geckos enjoy an arboreal forest style enclosure similar to that of a crested gecko, gargoyle gecko or leachuianus gecko. They have a base brown colour showing highlights of pink, yellow, silver, orange and more.

Mossy geckos, also known as Chahoua geckos are agressive feeders and enjoy a diet of fruit mix with insects such as worms being offered along side. Fruit mix should always be provided and your gecko should be sprayed several times a day unless using a rain or misting system, to provide the correct levels of humidity.

Enclosure decor should be used in the form of moss, branches, bark, vines and plants so that your gecko can climb and experience similar substrates to that of the wild. You may choose to create a bio-active enclosure for your gecko using live plants, bio-active substrates and bio-active custodians to clean your animals waste such as isopods and springtails.

Mossy geckos are fairly easy to care for, and are one of the rarer species of New Caledonian gecko kept in the reptile hobby.
